Esophageal surgery

Esophageal surgery

Esophageal surgery refers to procedures performed to treat benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus, such as cancer, strictures, gastroesophageal reflux and hiatal hernias. The procedures can be open or minimally invasive (laparoscopic/thoracoscopic), with the aim of removing the diseased portion and restoring the continuity of the digestive system. These are specialized procedures that require experience and a multidisciplinary approach.
