Philosophy
PD Dr. Orestis Lyros believes that successful surgical care begins long before the operating theatre. Every case is approached with thorough analysis, careful preoperative preparation and clear communication with the patient — because trust is built before the procedure.
Drawing on his experience at leading university reference centres in Europe and the United States, he applies modern enhanced recovery protocols and minimally invasive techniques that reduce postoperative pain and accelerate the return to everyday life.
Author of more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed international medical journals. Recipient of the international Helga-Reifert Stiftung oncology award (2017) for his research on gastrointestinal malignancies. Nominated for the Academy of Excellence of the German Society of Surgery (DGAV, 2019).
Associate Member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Society of Gastrointestinal Oncology. Regular speaker at international surgical congresses in Europe and the United States.
"For me, surgery is not merely a technical procedure — it is a carefully managed process of restoration. Success is defined by precision in execution and empathy in recovery."
